Possibly.
I think it would be better to delay the box and add the first month or two of patches. They usually are a lot patches, and some of the bugs discovered and solved in the first month or two after release are important.
Well, then you've got a number of other issues... How do we make it known that the boxed edition with all the "fixes" are available? Right now we take advantage of the launch period for the normal release. If we just launch a normal release without any mention of a boxed edition, then wouldn't we have to do another launch period for the boxed edition, a month afterwards? Which more than likely won't be as covered. And if we do mention the boxed edition, how do we do that while not cannibalizing our downloads (as tempting as I'm sure it would be to download a product which says "we'll have the fixes for all the problems with this thing in a month", I'm not sure that's the best way to create a splash with our product releases). Plus, we need to instead address the root of this problem: why does openSUSE release with issues anyway? If we need to talk about testing and release methods, let's talk about them (in a new thread). -- Kevin "Yeaux" Dupuy - openSUSE Member Public Mail: <kevin.dupuy@opensuse.org> Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays from the Yeaux! -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org
