Of course instead of package management one can open support wizard ... I do not think that would change anything as we do have,
It is changing few important things: * accessibility of tools
User has to remember one location to look for help and that is Help menu in any application, plus in case that application is crashing Help Assistant should be located in the Main Menu too. Like: Main Menu > Computer > Help Assistant (persistent) Main Menu > Favorites > Help Assitant
see below
Initial version of Help Assistant can be very simple, just let user know all help options, give links for online help, start package management, bugreporter or whatever other subsystem help we have.
Himm I thought some if not the most was already part of the greeter thingies that come with KDE, or the Firefox thingies, but not having used them I can not be sure
use bugreporter
rajko@linux:~> bugreporter Welcome to the submit bug report module!
You have to have a valid .oscrc file. Please do so by running osc.
rajko@linux:~> osc
Your user account / password are not configured yet. You will be asked for them below, and they will be stored in /home/rajko/.oscrc for future use.
Creating osc configuration file /home/rajko/.oscrc ... Username: ----------------------------------------------------------------
OK :) :D
Ok that I accept since I had a valid .osrc file it did not ask for it
Togan, I was talking about help for users that can find Help menu, not about those that have Open Build Service (OBS) account. They can report bugs without bugreporter, although I hope that quality of reports is better with it.
Well in that case, I can only suggest one thing make the wiki or the support database better, if I need to go to Arch wiki or debian or gentoo (but honestly Arch is better IMHO) then the problem is within what one has and creating another tool will not make the change the situation. So to me fix what is broken in this case documentation is broken. And yes user will have to remember one location support page <http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Support> Just check Arch wiki and compare it with ours decision is yours Togan -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
