Another thing I would like to know are the platforms of the candidates, I see Chucks and Roberts(they gave it here in previous mails) but I don't know were I can find the rest platforms. Also will there be any interviews of those guys? Excuse my questions but those are things that came out of discussions I had with other people of the project :D Thanks Kostas
P.S On the interviews I could help if nobody else stepped in on that. I have some ideas :)
If you look at the original post of this thread, I linked to the main article on news.o.o. I'll do that again here. [1] In that article, it links to each email announcement of the candidates' standing up for election. Not just Robert's and Chuck's. There is also a link to the board election page which is where everyone is submitting their platforms. Some have completed theirs, others haven't yet and are working on it. Regarding interviews, that is a "just do it" function. :-) If you (or others) are motivated to do it, just do it. Keep in mind there's 8 candidates, so a lot of work to be done in a short period of time. And if you post on news.o.o, be careful not to show bias, as that's official openSUSE infrastructure and a bias could appear to endorse one candidate over another. If you post interviews on your own blogs, well, you can be as biased as you wish. :-) Personally, I'm not a fan of interviews. They're too canned and prepared. In the olden days, we used to have a live debate/forum on IRC channel where people asked all candidates present some questions. I was about to ask my fellow members of the Election Officials to initiate a schedule of when this open debate can be happening. I'm more a fan of this methodd because it is more honest, open and insightful as no one has a chance to prepare their canned responses. Afterwward, we can post the results on relevant mediums for everyone to read. Thanks!
