I think the noise in #suse is putting off a lot of server admins.
that's putting it accurately, and rather mildly, imho ...
If the channel _is_ intended to be a support channel too, I think it's worth an article on news.opensuse.org.
I think that's worth looking into. I'm not necessarily opposed to it. My only fear would be that it would get too noisy for discussing and developing the server side of it.
in the context of server, i'm not clear how one differentiates 'support' from 'discussion' & 'development' -- or if one should. unlike #suse, which more often than not has "how do i make the lights go blinky in my app" sort of support question, (or lately the vulgar rantings of some loon ...) i'd suggest that when a sysadm is in #opensuse-server, it's likely that there's -- at best -- a lack of calrity on an issue, if not a downright problem. no, not always -- but again is the differentiation worth-it or clear? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-project+help@opensuse.org
