The current election guidelines state that members can be nominated by others and have to agree to the nomination, I find this sufficient.

jdd NB: by the way, votes do have ususally the option of blank vote and knowing if this vote is significant is widely discussed and challenged. we could add this option to a future ballot, for example to show opposition to the way the vote is done or to all the candidate,
