Meeting Minutes 8th Feb 2016 3PM CEST These minutes were approved in the Board Meeting on 22nd Feb 2016 Present Everyone Topics Board Meetings Face to Face Board Meeting KDE Statistics Board Meetings Board discussed the idea of recording Board Meetings hangouts. Due to the sensitive and private nature of some of the discussions (financial, personal, conflict resolution) it was decided to *NOT* record Board meetings regularly. Meeting minutes however will be noted, with Board Members taking turns to do so Public Board meetings to discuss particular topics will be done on request, with IRC being the most likely tool for the job (though Jangouts could be an alternative) AI: Michal to take next meetings minutes Face-to-Face Board Meeting The Board will have it's annual face to face board meeting in Nuremberg in March - provisional dates at 19-20th March This Board meeting is the primary opportunity for the new Board to meet each other and discuss the big topics for the year. We therefore want YOUR suggestions for those topics Existing ones already on our radar include - The TSP - Status and possible improvements - Event & Project Sponsorship - Reviewing last years, setting priorities for next year - Community, Communication and Marketing - After the last year of wide Technical change in the Project, it seems logical to spend this year focusing on addressing the other aspects of the Project, changing what needs to change, and addressing 'organisational debt' in areas where we haven't spent enough effort lately. The Board intends to discuss, identify areas of possible improvement, and hopefully push things in that direction. KDE The Board discussed the situation with KDE Project Their decision to create a competing distribution is a concern, as are some other discussions happening within the KDE community. The openSUSE KDE Team have the full support of the Board and the board agreed to work closely with our KDE Team to make sure they feel supported, and help them any way they can with any discussions with upstream KDE. Statistics Richard met Fedora's Statistics expert at FOSDEM. There seems to be interesting opportunities to work together and improve the quality of the statistics available in both Projects. Looking forward to see what comes of those opportunities going forward -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
