Hi everyone, First and foremost, on behalf of the openSUSE Project, I would like to personally thank Zaitor (Bjørn Lie) for his many years of dedication to the openSUSE Project as a GNOME packager and maintainer. Thank you Zaitor for everything you have done over the past decade for openSUSE, GNOME and open-source users worldwide. All open-source projects experience an attrition rate and the openSUSE Project is looking for a person to work closely with upstream GNOME to help maintain and package it for openSUSE releases. Packaging is a big part of the maintaining requirement. There are roughly 600 package to be maintained. Members of the openSUSE community can help with packaging to get the new GNOME maintainer fully up to date on GNOME packaging and maintaining for openSUSE releases. New maintainers, along with members of the community, also help to double check the packaging that people assist with for a release. A proficiency in packaging is necessary and volunteers will build a close relationship with upstream GNOME. If you are interested, visit the GNOME team on IRC in the #opensuse-gnome <irc://irc.freenode.org/opensuse-gnome>channel or subscribe and email opensuse-gnome@opensuse.org <mailto:opensuse-gnome@opensuse.org>. Respectfully, Douglas DeMaio, openSUSE Project
