So if you are a Member you can and should run for the board, if you want to. If you are not a Member, you can't.

I read the wiki pages and am aware of the facts. My question was rather directed into peoples opinions, not to say feelings, if someone unknown comes around, joins the project and immediately runs for board. I just don't want to step on someones feet if it's not necessary.
