For me, this is also a very serious question.
I almost didn't vote. I went and looked at the candidates and the platforms and was a bit overwhelmed by their overall quality. There were numerous I wanted to vote for. None that I hated. I don't know if a different voting method (stv?) would have made me more comfortable or not. I suspect ranking the 8 candidates by preference would have let me to seperate them into my top, middle, and bottom candidates, whereas only being able to select 2 felt like I was slighting other candidates I liked.
