I would like to request to release openSUSE 12.3 Blue-Ray Disc (BD) ISO image.
It is beneficial for several reasons: 1. It will make openSUSE easier to use in virtualization environments. (the ISO will serve as a static offline mirror image for multiple openSUSE VMs) -- even for those, who lack actual BD hardware. 2. It will make for an easier and faster install, for those who have BD hardware. 3. It will finally allow to put whole repository of openSUSE into a single medium.
And it is not beneficial for several other reasons: · Not many people have blue ray hardware, even less burners. · Not many people have the network capacity to download such an image · Probably not many mirrors will give that many space to mirror them. On the other hand, you may request that someone with the knowledge creates a script (or scripts) to download and create locally such an image so that you can deploy it. That would be doable. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. R.
