Hi,
little clarification regarding my resignation and the voting. I was trying to figure out what was going wrong with connect voting, but although I got testers wiling to help, I wasn't able to pin out the cause. My first volunteer was able to reproduce the issue reliably, while I wasn't able to do so on my or test account. Sources and database both look correct. So in the end, I wasn't able to figure it out, especially under pressure with limited time available on my side (currently quite busy).
So emergency solution was to hack together simple application to allow us to proceed with elections. As you can see in the sources, it is just PHP OpenID library with slightly modified example. It is made as simple as possible - no database, everything hard-coded. Reasoning behind that is to make sure that it will work without any issues this time.
But as I wrote it, set it up and was too involved in this years election process, I don't feel that it would be right and fair to continue running for board. Also this year we have enough awesome candidates, so I have no worries about the election results.
I think after elections we will need to take a look at connect and figure out how to move forward, most likely replacing it. It was nice idea at the beginning but it is not working as it was meant to.
So good luck to everybody!
Thanks for the hard work and effort you've put into getting the system working again. -- Simon Lees (Simotek) http://simotek.net Emergency Update Team keybase.io/simotek SUSE Linux Adelaide Australia, UTC+10:30 GPG Fingerprint: 5B87 DB9D 88DC F606 E489 CEC5 0922 C246 02F0 014B
