I'd like to point out that THIS is what the *openSUSE Conference* is for: offering a place to discuss these things *in person*.
Probably this has already been pointed out on the thread, but since you CCed me: as I pointed out on the original thread, a) neither the entire project, nor all those whose voices deserve to be heard, is going to be at the conference b) the discussion exceeds the scope of a couple of BoFs at the conference, which happens late in the cycle this discussion affects. This thread has brought to light useful inputs that can frame the decision making at the conf. So big, representative decisions take big mail threads - man-up a bit, read, digest and prepare a summary of them to share at the conference.
