I just saw some comments that a new Google Summer of Code'2009 (http://code.google.com/soc) will be accepting project proposals in a week or so.
Just an basicly Question: Where are Summer of Code? What Location?
From the FAQ (http://code.google.com/opensource/gsoc/2009/faqs.html):
"Google Summer of Code (GSoC) is a global program that offers student developers stipends to write code for various open source projects."
It's global. It's not tied to a location.
The idea is that students work at their university and the mentor is somewhere remote. Last year openSUSE mentors came from countries including India, Germany and US - and the students from different countries as well. Sascha, does that answer your question?
