Hi all, I'm a second year's master at Beijing University of Post and Telecommunication, majored in EE and looking forward to contribute "Redesign fdisk to be more extensible and implement GPT support" at this year's GSoC. I have used openSUSE from 10.1 till the latest version for almost 6 years. It's really fantasy for me. You may have noticed that my email address is jiayisuse :) Redesigning fdisk and Adding GPT support is attractive for me. It's a little upset once I got the GPT Warning message with typing fdisk on my MBP. I have read parts of fdisk source code, it's really a bit disordered. So I think this work is quite significant and I want to contribute for it. I'm skilled with C/C++/bash/awk, experienced in both Linux Application and Linux kernel module development (Internship at Intel China R&D, develop meego driver). Last 3 days I read the GPT reference, libparted source code and Mac's gpt source code. Then I set up my git repository and did a experiment to modify fdisk to list all my GPT partitions' info, it works now :) openSUSE's webpage indicates me here. So Could you recommend me to do this project under Petr Uzel's guide? Many thanks~ Best Regards Hongyi -- 俺的博客:http://www.jiayii.com 俺的QQ:522825694 Gtalk:就是这个啦 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
