Dear all, Given the recent events, I decided to compile a small list of questions/topics to present to the contestants to the Board. 1. "Battle not with monsters, lest ye become a monster, and if you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes also into you." - F. Nietzsche
Given the discussion regarding the recent action of the current
board in expelling a member, could you please comment the quotation above having in mind that action (and your knowledge about the situation)?
Ok, I want to file my objection to these types of questions which posit the tight relation of over-arching philosophical concepts to the removal of one *member* [not "citizen", or "resident", or...] from an *Open Source project*.
Agreed, this is a passive-aggressive attack on the existing board and an attempt to get all the other candidates to frame their candidacy relative to carefully selected quotes that represent your stance on the membership issue.
I'm very sorry, feel free to elaborate 'attack', you can reply in private.
And anyway, since you describe yourself as a friend of the ex-member in question, perhaps the proper course of action for you in this election would be to not run your own campaign as a single issue to reinstate your friend, or else what are you going to do for the following two years on the board?
None of the topics on the plaform say anything about 'reinstating' anyone, neither I never said the perpetrator was to be forgiven. But I am worried when 2 applicants have public statements fully supporting the Board's actions which remains untransparent, and the question I made were ignored since the very start... 1. Was the perpetrator given a proper chance to defend himself against the charges? If so when and how. 2. Why was the perpetrator booted from the IRC meeting where this was all solved? Peace...
