Folks, Following the great results of the Google Summer of Code this year, we have a new opportunity in the coming months to bring in even more students into our community with the Google Code-In Contest. This is a contest aimed at pre-university students between the ages of 13-17 by providing them with a specific list of tasks to complete. You can read more about the program at http://www.google-melange.com/gci/homepage/google/gci2011. Our awesome Manu Gupta who lit the fire and revived our spirit for GSoC this year is at it again and lighting up our fires for Google Code In (GCI). You can see our own wiki pages here: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GCI http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:GCI_Tasks How you can help: Visit the our task wiki page and add tasks you think would be good for students and helpful to our openSUSE Project. And even better, add yourself as a mentor to help guide these students who will be the future of our great community. Please notice that not all tasks must be coding-related. There's a variety of community/project/web-related tasks we can come up with for these students. Time is short and we need you to add to the task page soon. On November 9, we will hopefully be approved by Google and by November 21, these students will begin working until January 16, 2012. If you have any questions, please contact Manu or me and we'll be happy to be there for you!
