While I agree that an SR to bump versions is fair game, your attitude to the maintainer is reprehensible. Suggesting incompetence to the maintainer is not how you get them to work with you.
Neil, That's harsh, especially since rather worse -- in my opinion anyway -- is the maintainer's response while declining the sr in [1], being needlessly domineering and discouraging towards the volunteer caring enough to submit an update. Sure, there are issues with the sr, but the reviewer could point that out in any number of more respectable ways.
Good luck taking on CentOS with this attitude, EDA space is not where openSUSE can shine if community members act like they need to protect their tiny projects, I have requested a separate OBS project for ASIC and FPGA EDA effort, and was told to use electronics, so make up your mind...
Why do you think we want to do it the way you're proposing? For what it's worth, if you tried to gaslight me for my devel project like you're doing to Stefan now, then I would *definitely* never want to help you.
There are no "my" devel projects and "your" devel projects. Any OBS user may submit requests to any devel project and expect to be treated without condescension. [1] https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/856971
