Yes, yes and yes. I fully agree - I even have some tips, see: http://blog.jospoortvliet.com/2011/08/10-steps-to-building-local- community.html
Hope it helps.
On to the more practical side of SCALE 11x: * To help things get going I have set up a SCALE page: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:SCALE2013 And Drew, I put you on there as organizer as you initiated this and clearly want to organize it. If you can't, for some reason - let some of the others who are interested in helping know so ppl can pick things up, of course.
* The TSP (travel support program) can reimburse costs for events up to $100 so now you need a design and a quote on the costs and you can do the banner thing ;-)
I'd suggest to try and put things on that wiki page to make them easier to find and follow.
Loads of hugs, Jos

Jos, Thank you very much for putting up the wiki page for SCaLE 11x. I have very little experience with our wiki but I will try to figure out hot to keep the page up-to-date. I am going to reach out on the -artwork mailinglist for some help with the banner... I am excited to see what we'll come up with for the banner. -- Drew Adams Member & Ambassador, openSUSE Project -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
