My vote goes for one major release each year. For me its great advantage is that I would spend/waste less time dealing with the special bits that SuSE does not always fully cover - my backup operating system, my raid setup, the motherboard sensors, graphics card, the fortran bit of hdf5, recompiling all my own software for the new library versions, codecs, sound, etc. etc. If you can do that plus keep major packages like Libreoffice reasonably up to date during the year it would be even better.
