Hi The idea was to add the projects which were not taken up last year. Also, as we might not find mentors for all the projects (and some mentors were not available), I left the option for people, who are willing to mentor for those projects to add themselves to the list. While submitting the application to Google, I will remove the projects on the ideas page that do not have any mentors. On Mon, Mar 11, 2013 at 4:05 PM, Henne Vogelsang <hvogel@opensuse.org> wrote:

We have about 15 days to have a solid ideas page for Google Summer of Code this year. Applications start on the 17th of March. At the moment, I put up the projects from last year's ideas page on the wiki page, but they are open to be taken by mentors. Feel free to add your name to the mentors.
Hm what use is this? Adding projects from last year? Now we have a bunch of outdated, already implemented or mentorless projects on the page. I don't get it.
