That sounds fantastic. Our tram could design something. Although we need to know the banner size and if the project approves of a specific banner.

Thanks, the help would definitely be welcome. I was thinking about going through one of those online companies that make banners for cheap... all we have to do is provide the graphic and give them a bit of cash. I found this place:
http://www.buildasign.com/CustomBanners
They do a 3ft by 8ft sign for $50. I don't know what the dementions of the booth is going I don't know if anyone has ever used that company or had success with another company but it should be simple, no matter who I go though.
As for getting it approved, I think we should come up with something first and then submit it for approval. Getting an approval when we don't have anything seems like we won't get too far to me. Do you like the idea of a California theme though?
I think that this is a really great idea, Scale is a big event and deserves its own banner, plus that the past 2-3 years we have a constant presence there. Do we have any openSUSE pressentations happening this year? What else are you thinking of having as promotional stuff? Please have in mind that TSP can aprove a small amount for making promotional stuff for the event. let me know your ideas and maybe then I can make some contribution to it :) Kostas

Exactly what I was thinking... we have been at SCaLE for several years in a row and so long as I live out here I plan to continue working it... it is a larger event in the US and I think it would really get local people interested and want to come talk to us. As far as TSP support for promotional stuff, I was thinking about maybe getting some openSUSE shirts made up with a similar California theme as the banner... to draw even more people to the booth. I really these efforts to help draw people to the booth. I am not going to make the mistake that I made last year... I am going to make a huge effort tell people about our growing local community and tell them about our Southern California openSUSE Meetup group. This way we can stay in communication with them beyond SCaLE and possibly involve them in Launch Parties and such in the future. This way, next year we might have a broader local pool of openSUSE users that might be interested in working the booth.... rinse repeat! I really believe helping people feel more connected to the project by showing a local community who is there and proud will help people want to get engaiged and stay engaged with the overall community (both locally and internationally). The more people feel connected and engaged the more likely they are to want to contribute in whatever way they can... and that is what it is all about for me. -- Drew Adams Member & Ambassador, openSUSE Project -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
