So if we want to construct a poll, probably the first (and most important step) is determining how many users we have - even a rough estimate (not a guess, though) will help us identify if the sample is representative enough of our overall userbase. If we don't know the size of our userbase, then it's difficult to know if we've got a large enough sample for the poll to be valid. Even just knowing within an order of magnitude should be sufficient (though a better estimate should help us).
