Yeah, it's definitely something that the jury's out on whether it's better or not now than it used to be. But you're right, where the expertise is in large part also depends on what expertise is needed. And I also do think that there are some circumstances where the old paradigm does work (like looking for developers with very, very specific knowledge - you have to go where they are).
