and allowing kernel updates every 1 year.
What would be the reason not to do this while updating kernel every 6 months? Marketing? Stability? The idea to avoid backporting applied to the base system will actually make possible shorter release periods.
Just to be clear, I am not in favor of a 6 month release plan, I personally enjoy not having to upgrade twice a year my systems :) I am just trying to point out that avoiding backports is almost here with Tumbleweed with the difference being just the kernel updates (and some help Greg would need from us to keep things up). -- Angelos Tzotsos Remote Sensing Laboratory National Technical University of Athens http://users.ntua.gr/tzotsos -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-project+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, email: opensuse-project+owner@opensuse.org
