Hello, Thanks for the help. We mainly run scientific code that is written by scientists rather than programmers and our machines are *usually* set up to be fairly forgiving of progamming style. "ulimit -s" shows that the stack size is limited to 8Mb on the 10.2 nodes and unlimited on the 10.0 nodes. Hence the program was crashing when it tried to allocate an 8Mb buffer on th 10.2 nodes. Now I just have to work out why the upgrade to 10.2 changed the limits. Cheers.
