Hi.
I need help.
I have SUSE Linux 10.0 with kernel 2.6.13. Now I want to update kernel to last stable version.
I need answer on next question: 1. Can I use last kernel version from official linux kernel site for update? Yes, but you are better off using the versions from SuSE.
Are you sure Jerry?
I thought it was a big deal to upgrade pre 2.6.14 to post 2.6.14 because of udev changes in the kernel that require userland changes.
Not to say it can't be done, but I think you need to pay attention to udev. I did not consider udev in my reply, but the issue is that the OP should get the required RPMs from SuSE and should not worry about building a new kernel. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9
