Questions about RS/6000 dual 332Mh 7025-F50 and Linux
Hello, I'll be acquiring a couple of these boxes soon and hope to be able to get Linux running reliably on them. Is it clear that running SuSe 7.3 on them is the best option? I've seen a few pages on the net saying that Debian 3.0 also works (though getting it running appears to be quite a struggle)? Does anyone have any links to installation HOWTOs? Any other information/links would be much appreciated. Thanks much, John ---- By convention the sweet, by convention the bitter, by convention the cold, the hot, the color, in truth nothing but atoms and void (Democritos, after Sextus Empiericus, DK 68 B 9)

you need at least kernel 2.4.22 to boot a F50. The kernel 2.4.2 from suse-ppc 7.1 may work as well. everything in between is broken for F50. there is an iso image you can try: ftp.suse.com/pub/people/olh/sles8-ppc/F50/ -- USB is for mice, FireWire is for men! sUse lINUX ag, nÜRNBERG
