Hi, Olaf, 1) Patches in BETA/sleep are against stock 2.4.6 or benh tree? 2) Which one proved to be more stable and less problematic: k_pmac or k_benh? Is sleep, firewire and ati video mirroring support the only advantage of benh kernel? Thanks. ******************************************************** * Best Regards --- Andrei Verovski * * e-mail --- andrei.verovski@bigfoot.com * * * * Personal Home Page * * http://homepage.mac.com/macgurutemple/ * * Mac, Linux, DTP, Development, IT WEB Site * ********************************************************

the current status is against 2.4.6.

k_pmac is 2.2, this is somehow obsolete but that doesnt mean you have to update just because there is a neat 2.4 binary. If it works for you, stick with it. Only Bens tree has working firewire and sleep support, video mirroring should work with 2.4.2 and the normal kernel.org tree, but I didnt try it. Bens tree has also the "cache flush avoidance", that should improve the performace a bit. A normal glibc.rpm build takes normaly 58 minutes on my G4, Bens kernel is a bit faster: 53 minutes. But I have to verify that again. I noticed that with 2.4.7-pre3 k_deflt and 2.4.7-pre6 kernel-benh. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
