===== Original Message From Tom Dove <tdove@toad.net> ===== Hi all,
I've not been able to make kppp or the Gnome equivalent (I forget its name and I'm in OSX now) dial the internal modem in my 2001 slot-loading iMac (SuSE 7.1, KDE 2.2, Gnome 1.4). Searching various FAQs revealed others with the same problem, but no answers.
The Setup and other parts of kppp seem to work properly and it claims to recognize the modem, but the log shows that it freezes when the modem does not respond with "OK" after the "ATZ" initialization command from the software.
Is ATZ the wrong initialization command, or is something else wrong here? I'm currently going to my ISP through the Ethernet connection to my AirPort, which has its own modem, and that works.
