Hello listers, Anybody has succeeded with the subj ? How realistic is this combo in terms of serving me no vice versa? I tried to get OpenBSD running it, but it was too much of a grief. Thanks for any pointers. -- Best regards, Yuri mailto:yuri_ko@mac.com <----------------------------------72---------------------------------->
OpenBSD on PowerPC is (currently) a nightmare... and AFAIK it's "supported" only on some (not all) "new world" machines ("coloured"). Still beta software. Linux should be no problem, but don't expect lightspeed... Yuri K wrote:

OpenBSD on PowerPC is still in a pretty early stage. Currently only New World Macs are supported. SuSE PPC should run fine on your 7200 (although not very fast), as long as you don't use the SuSE 2.2.16 kernel which comes with SuSE7.0. I did an install on a 7200/90 with a 200MHz processor upgrade once and it didn't boot with it but there's a solution described in the SuSE Support Database. I also had problems with Apache on the machine. Gruss Marc
