What shall I try next to get any sort of Linux installed on my TiBook G4
FTP Directory: ftp://ftp.suse.com/%2f/pub/suse/ppc/boot/
Parent Directory ..... suseboot7.hqx. . . . . . . . . . Dec 4 16:07 15009k
I have the new Titanium Powerbook G4 with three equally sized HFS+ partitions (20/3 GB), one for Mac OS 9.1, one for Mac OS X, and I would like to install Linux on another partition. Apples on-disk program does not allow changing partition. I refuse to use a commercial partitioning software (they keep insisting that you use their software in all future) and the MacOS9.1 CD cannot be used as a startup disk on the TiBook (works perfectly as startup disk on my old 6400). LinuxPPC2000 Q4 does work as startup disk, but hangs after 5 lines with booting .... What shall I try next to get any sort of Linux installed? Heinz

Hard to believe. Perhaps you did not use the CD that comes with the TiBook out of the box? If you are right, then customers should insist that Apple changes that. IZ ------------- Heinz Nabielek wrote:

Take SuSE Linux 7.1 PPC, should work as far as I can see ... At least some customers reported this. Maybe troubles with sound (and maybe ethernet) ...
