You dont need 7.1, what you need is a newer kernel and newer ppp and modutils. /mirror/SuSE/ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/ppc/kernel/ There is BETA/sleep/vmlinux.initrd.pmac-elf, boot that directly, it will drop you into the installer.
