hello i want to try to install suse ppc 7.3 i have - serial connection - RS/6000 pSeries 640 Model B80 (7026) - newest SMS (Version NAN03276) - i think every manual existing in web :-( i have NOT - floppy - graphic my steps - got suse 7.3 from ftp-server - installed an bootp, tftp, ftp, nfs server - set the mac adress perm - boot the rs6000 over net - i took the image from suse zImage.initrd.chrp-power3-2.4.16-SMP-3 (and zImage.initrd.ppc64) - the engine starts everything is ok - yast starts - select install network (nfs/ftp) (both running) - partitioning the hard drive by system - select install network (nfs/ftp) - testing install source .. OK - starting install "Base system: unknown" "Source media: suse-linux-ftp-ppc 7.3.0-0" .... "Linuxrc v1.2 (kernel 2.4.13-ppc64-smp ....." .... "An error occurred during the installation!" and back in start-screen of yast what was wrong. i hope you can help me. ------------------------------------------------------- i tryed also every linux i could get to install from cd or net but suse was the only that started. i have running a aix but do not know how to work with it. i hope you understand my way to write english (sorry) tim
