I tried to install suse linux on umax pulsar 250 dp. Who has any experiences with linux on this maschine?
My Pulsar is a smaller one (singe processor @ 200 MHz).
First problem: the machine dosn't start from linux CD.
You should try using BootX to boot the installation system from the CD. The Umax Pulsar is an Old World Mac. IMHO this should be mentioned in the documentation you received with the CDs... Thats what I do. BootX switch to CD. Then the following output appears on the screen and nothing else happens:
Welcome to Linux, kernel 2.4.12

Which version of SuSE PPC are you trying to install?
Version 7.3
Good luck,
