Hi, I have been trying to set up XFree86 v4 on a beige G3 with 6 MB of video RAM to accept 1024x768 for resolution with a Samsung TFT 570 for some days now. But I utterly fail. The max I achieve to get out of it are 800x600. Am I missing some restrictions. Also, I have a running screen if a switch to console modus. It's plainly unbearable. The Apple Darwin server on SuSE? I would rather put it on my g3 running Linux than have to build a Red Hat or NT and I don't have the option of installing OS X Server. If there is anyone interested in helping me port it over let me know. Thanks Benjamin

Have you already tried setting 'CREATE_FB_CONF' to 'init' (instead of 'yes' or 'no') in yast? This completely solved my resolution problems in the past... but it was 6.4, not 7.1, so I can't guarantee.
BTW, it's a G3 mini tower with 224 MB RAM under SuSE 7.1 PPC.
