Hi, I have problem with newest Sax2-4.2.7 PPC. I am bought SuSE 7.0 PPC, and it seems Sax2 supplied with this distribution is outdated and does not work well with newest Apple hardware. I have downloaded new saxtools 2-1-16 and Sax2-4.2.7. However, Sax2-4.2.7 complains about unresolved depencency problems (perl-storable, perl-gettext, libXrender, libc.so.6). I have all perl, mesa and XFree86-4.01 modules installed (from 7.0). Please inform me which packages need to be installed (and downloaded from) to resolve depencency problems. Thanks in advance. This file is from upate/BETA/7.1/. It requires a newer glibc and proably newer helper apps. Don't use it on 7.0 or 6.4 systems. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...

I just put a new sax2 for 7.0 on the ftp server: ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/ppc/X/suse70/*.ppc.rpm It should work for r128, ati, mga based cards. Possible that it can handle the controlfb, valkyriefb and platinumfb based onboard chips. It can not help you with dual head configurations, just because the Xserver can not handle that. If you have two or more available cards/chips in your machine do it that way: sax2 -p (this will give you a list of available boards and the used driver at the end of the line) sax2 -c X (where X is the number of the desired board. If you see "unknown" or such don't use that one.) A safe call for such a mutli board configuration would be: sync ; sax2 -c 0 -m fbdev It should work with 4.0.1 and 4.0.2.
