Hi all, I'm trying to access the Internet using an old PowerMac, a Hagenuk ISDN Terminal Adapter ("Speed Dragon") and SusePPC 7.1 with the Standard Kernel (2.4.2 AFAIR). Everytime I try dialling in, pppd dies with exit status 1, and the following message appears in /var/log/messages:
Couldn't set tty to PPP discipline.
It doesn't matter if I use wvdial or a "pppd call <provider>" command. Neither in man pppd nor in the pppd FAQ I found something concerning this subject... Any help would be appreciated! Please Cc: your answer to joschmili@gmx de. Thank you, Christian -- Christian Schmidt schmidtc@chemie.uni-hamburg.de

I could solve the problem by replacing the entry alias tty-ldisc-3 ppp with alias tty-ldisc-3 ppp_async in /etc/modules.conf cu, Christian -- Christian Schmidt schmidtc@chemie.uni-hamburg.de
