That is really strange. I built from tarballs the entire KDE 1.93 source just a month or so ago and ened up running Koquereor (and even testing its java interface with blackdown, testing the window manager to make sure it works with jdk 1.3, etc and it all worked fine.
We will try to build it with 6.4, but I have not much hope.
What versions of binutils, gcc, and glibc does SuSE 6.4 ship with?
gcc-2.95.3-5 binutils-2.9.5.0.24-117 shlibs-2.1.3-162
I have never heard of a binary incompatibility. People have reported that the jdk 1.3 works under SuSE 6.4 and it was built using gcc-2.93 2c, glibc 2.1.3, and binuitls 2.0.10.24.
Even Franz has no idea, appearently.
Hmm...something is very funny here. I am going to grab the KDE 2 source tarballs and do a build and create binary tarballs for people to grab and try on SuSE 6.4
Better fix other things than kde2 :=) Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...

Sorry, that was the wrong window: gcc-2.95.2-71 binutils-2.9.5.0.24-72 shlibs-2.1.3-113 KDE2 was compiled with the stuff above. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
