Hi! I'm trying to install SLES9 on IBM JS21 blade server. During installation process I get "Kernel panic". I'm attaching part of install messages. I have succesfully installed SLES 10 on same machine, but sadly I have to downgrade to SLES9 because of the problems with oracle. Thank you for your answers and kind regards Uros Install messages: checking if image is initramfs...it isn't (no cpio magic); looks like an initrd Freeing initrd memory: 2570k freed NET: Registered protocol family 16 PCI: Probing PCI hardware IOMMU table initialized, virtual merging disabled PCI: Probing PCI hardware done Using unsupported 640x480 pci1002,515e.1002.515e.2 at a8000000, depth=8, pitch=640 fb0: Open Firmware frame buffer device on /pci@8000000f8000000/pci@7/display@2 Requesting EPOW irq 200, 216, 184, 589825 Requesting EPOW irq 0, 16, -16, 0 Total HugeTLB memory allocated, 0 RTAS daemon started VFS: Disk quotas dquot_6.5.1 Initializing Cryptographic API pci_hotplug: PCI Hot Plug PCI Core version: 0.5 rpaphp: RPA HOT Plug PCI Controller Driver version: 0.1 rpaphp: register_vio_slot: registered VIO device[name=30000000 vio_dev=c000000003d7ec00] rpaphp: Slot [30000000](VIO location=U8844.51G.99DYZ7P-V1-C0) registered rpaphp: register_vio_slot: registered VIO device[name=30000001 vio_dev=c000000003d7ee00] rpaphp: Slot [30000001](VIO location=U8844.51G.99DYZ7P-V1-C1) registered Kernel panic: hash_page: pte_insert failed Entering kdb (current=0xc00000000edbf320, pid 1) on processor 2

Your log shows a graphics card was found. While there tends to be an ATI chip on the board, the firmware hides it. Either you run with an old firmware version or you have a very new board or you dont use the SP3 CD. SP3 is supposed to work ok on JS21.
