Hi, I just noticed a very unpleasant feature of the French X symbols table for the keayboard. The Euro Sign replaces the Dollar sign. This is really unfortunate. Not because I'm pro american (!) but because, when one develops shell scripts for example, one really NEEDS the dollar sign. So what I did was to modify the french keymap in /usr/X11/lib/X11/xkb/symbols/macintosh/fr . Not very handy. While we are on these, there is also an inconsistency for the console french keymap. When one sets up the french version of Suse 7.3, the system expects a map called /usr/lib/kbd/keymaps/mac/all/mac-fr-latin1.map.gz but it doesn't exist. I just made a link from /usr/lib/kbd/keymaps/mac/all/mac-fr-latin1.map.gz to /usr/lib/kbd/keymaps/mac/all/mac-fr.map.gz which, indeed is present.
