Did you try wvdial.lxdialog to configure wvdial?

Guess what - my modem is running! Thanks for the wvdial.lxdialog suggestion. After having played around with its configuration without any success, I decided to run wvdial from within the lxdialog menu since I had nothing else to do - and it worked. Even with my very first wvdial.config file! Thus, it seems that there is a problem with kinternet. With 'locate kinternet' I couldn't find any configuration file for it. Either my settings are screwy or the program doesn't like my environment. If you know of some way how to tweak kinternet please let me know, otherwise I will forward a bug message to the kinternet guys. Best wishes from a happily connected Jutta
