Fwd: [linux] Exposé via projecteur
Hello, Bonjour, I finally managed to use PowerBookG3 with a projector (to use with simpress). Originally the projected image was yellow. Here follows original /etc/X11/XF86Config (yellow image thus): I make transformations like indicated with arrows below. ==> i have no more yellow screen with KDE but can't have more than 800x600 resolution (which does not disturb me) and with 1024x768 ==> yellow screen) But the image is blurred/fuzzy or more precisely split into two image. It is thus difficult to see the details. Does anybody have a way to set the problem. Do I have tp play with HorizSync (now 31-65) or VertRefresh (now 58-78). Thanks Alain Here follows XF86Config: Section "Device" BoardName "Mach64 LI" BusID "0:17:0" Driver "ati" Identifier "Device[0]" Option "dpms" Option "reference_clock Mhz" "29.498928" VendorName "ATI" EndSection ========= below my modifications indicated with arrows =========- Section "Screen" DefaultDepth 15 ======> changed in 8 SubSection "Display" Depth 15 =====> changed in 8 Modes "1024x768" =======> changed in 800x600 EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 16 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 24 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 32 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection SubSection "Display" Depth 8 Modes "1024x768" EndSubSection Device "Device[0]" Identifier "Screen[0]" Monitor "Monitor[0]" EndSection So it works but how to sharpen the image. Please tell more details: Which version of XFree86, which PowerBook-model etc. I can't manage to get the external VGA-port to work on my PowerBook Pismo running SuSE Linux 7.3 at all - and need to make a presentation tomorrow. :-| -j -- Netcetera Aps - Brolaeggerstraede 4 - 1211 Koebenhavn K. read /usr/share/doc/packages/pmud/README.m3mirror, it should work perfect with 7.3. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...

I promised to return with response to Olafs advise: It is a fine and short howto It works just perfect and totally "out of the box" and in first try: janus@leika:~> m3mirror lcd:1 crt:1 Voila! VGA-mirror-output on my external 17" screen and the colours are just fine. Right now I am working on my presentation which I am going to show to 100++ people later tonight in the local LUG. The presentation is about LyX - and together with that I exptect the lighting Apple and the SuSE-sticker to catch attraction. ;-) Additional question: Right now the file m3mirror is placed in my /home-directory. What is the correct location to place it? Thanks, Olaf! :-) -j -- Netcetera Aps - Brolaeggerstraede 4 - 1211 Koebenhavn K. Tlf. 33 14 70 00 - http://netcetera.dk/

Photos from tonights presentation: <http://www.sslug.dk/moede/hygge/2002-03-21/pix/> Notice the lighting Apple and the "SuSE Linux - I love it"-sticker - just as i hoped for. :-) <http://www.sslug.dk/moede/hygge/2002-03-21/pix/index.php?viewone=2&lang=en> Again: Thanks to Olaf for a well working mailinglist. Witout the suppor from the list, I could't have made the presentation on my own machine, but had to move it to some Compaq-machine. -j PS: Do I revieve a SuSE "Geeko" for this propaganda-mail? ;-) -- Men are from Earth. Women are from Earth. Deal with it!
