now my keyboard doesn't work
Hi, folks: I got SuSE Linux running on an Apple Performa 6400. I looked through the YaST menus, changed something that I thought was trivial (I can't remember what), and now have the following problem: PROBLEM: When I boot up and get the graphical "Welcome to SuSE Linux" dialog box, I can type into the login text box, but when I attempt to type into the password text box, my keystrokes don't appear. I tried typing my password, then hitting the Go! key, but the computer says my password is invalid--so I don't think the computer is "seeing" my keystrokes at all. OTHER OBSERVATIONS: The tab key moves the I-beam cursor between the two fields, and the I-beam cursor *does* appear in the password text box. Also, no messages appear in the console log box in the lower right corner of the screen. I've shutdown, turned off the computer, waited, and tried again--same problem. Can I do anything to correct this, or <sob> should I reinstall Linux from scratch? Thanks. --greggw PS--Has anyone tried tech support (isupport@suse.com)? I sent them a question two weeks ago, got an automatic confirmation, but haven't gotten an answer yet. Thanks. --gw .........................................................................
