hmmm it needs to have a boot-able controller and have an id which is less than that of any other bootable device. I don't believe you need id 0 my 7500 beige Mac uses ID 1 so that should be ok.

I have been trying to install 7.1 on a b/w g3 with a Adaptec 2940uw card a 16gb cheetah drive. I keep having problems with file system errors when the machine tries to boot into linux. I have not found a lot of documentation yet on if ppc linux is supported to boot from SCSI drives and I was wondering if anyone on the list knows of any pitfalls with this.
