Ok. Then the saga continues with installing SLES8 for iSeries and pSeries. The task was not easy to complete. I tried several methods without any success. But then the simpliest, easyest and most fantastic idea give me the solution. I asked myself whether the SLP 7.3 and SLES8 compatible in a strange way. --force --nodeps *.rpm After having finished the procedure, I started Yast2, inserted the CD1 of SLES8 and reinstalled all packages from Yast2. A quick kernel compilation (2.4.27 vanilla), kernel dd to PReP Boot partition and reboot. All went well, and SLES8 works fine.
