Sounds portugese to me, but it's italian, right ;)
wrong, but close! :-) in between italy and portugal there's spain: "mas o menos" stands for "more or less". besides, I am italian myself.
Well, if I had a TiBook I wouldn't run it under Linux, especially since the BSD Kernel of OS X almost makes it a *nixBook ;)
so you don't consider installing linux something worthy. my point is that i have never ever used other operating system but linux (let alone several short periods on hp-ux), so it's kind of mandatory. the other option is switching all tools I've been using on linux with osx similars (or re-compile all of them unde darwin).
complete information available on how to get these machines working with linux. i've not been able to find out much, set alone that the 550mhz being
Mandrake 8.2 will work on those machines for sure. SuSE 7.1 will also, according to their own website. All you need now is to either download the two Mandrake Cds or hook the TiBook up with an internet connection and do an ftp install (tried it myself for about a week). But if you want to save yourself a lot of headache get the latest 7.3 SuSE distribution. You'll get 8 Cds of Linux and the install is almost a no-brainer. And once you got Linux up and running there's probably not much of a difference to any other SuSE experience.
distributions database archive are kind of down to date for titaniums and i haven't been able to feel how good the support is so far. from what I have been reading these days, even if finding informations is sort of troublesome (mostly in japanese..... way worse than portugese!), the main problems arise from driving the ati card. f. -------------------------------------------------------
