Hello! I posted a question some time ago about an Acard-Adapter that didn't work properly with linux. I found the solution. I had to do a firmware-update. Now it works fine. Can anybody tell the SuSE-Support-people? They didn't know about that. Marianne

What firmware did you update, the 9500 or the one on your IDE card? Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...

I had the same problems some time ago and also updated the ROM on the Acard controller itself. (I must have joined the list after Marianne mentioned her problems -- I could have helped there... :-/ ) Unfortunately this only works if you do the following: - shut off the Mac - disconnect all drives from the Acard controller - boot into Mac OS (Classic) - download the ROM updater for your card model from http://www.acard.com/eng/support/mac.html and install it - shut down again and reconnect the IDE drives to the Acard controller - reboot into Linux to test it. I don't think you can do it from MOL. Another tip: Sonnet has a card (Tempo ATA66) that is identical to Acard's, so you can also use their ROM updater from http://www.sonnettech.com/downloads/adapter_sw.html#temporom. This may also help when using the card with Mac OS Classic and Mac OS X, FWIW.
