[opensuse-ppc] X won't load on new install on G4 w/Rage 128
"Your /etc/X11/xorg.conf has probably a BusID line. Remove that line and try again." Thank you Olaf, but unfortunately that didn't work either. I got exactly the same results as before. Do you have any more suggestions? Adam Well, I solved the problem by commenting out the following line in lilo.conf: append = " quiet sysrq=1 video=ofonly" Perhaps this was added by the installer as I had to type video=ofonly when I started the installer. Of course now I don't see anything on-screen until it boots into X. Definitely a bug of some sort. _________________________________________________________________ Need to know the score, the latest news, or you need your Hotmail®-get your "fix". http://www.msnmobilefix.com/Default.aspx------------------------------------... What monitor do you use? The r128 driver does not collect the EDID data via DDC, so it does not know what monitor is attached. The default resolution 1024x768@75 does appearently not work for your setup. Can you send me the 'hwinfo --monitor' output? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-ppc+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-ppc+help@opensuse.org
