Suse 7.1 on IBM 7044 model 270
Hi List Has anybody installed Suse 7.1 on an IBM 7044 model 270? I'm having huge problems installing it. If I choose graphic installation I get an error "RPM returned an error" when it tries to install the Power 3 kernel. If I choose expert mode I can install it but I can't boot it afterwards. I have written a new lilo.conf and run lilo afterwards, but it still doesn't boot. This is how my lilo.conf looks: boot=/dev/sda1 timeout=100 default=linux image = /boot/vmlinux_chrp64 root=/dev/sda3 label=linux append="console=ttyS0,9600" Best regards, Jacob Vennervald Madsen Mobile Systems Developer GoPinocchio Norrebrogade 45 DK-2200 Copenhagen www.gopinocchio.com +45 26750106 ********************************************************************** This email and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. I have some reports that the kernel.rpm can not be installed, but I have no idea why. Did you use the yast2 custom partitioner?

That looks ok, but the bootfile should be /boot/vmlinux-chrp64 What error do you get? What do you get with "fdisk -l"? Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
