I'm trying Suse's 2.2.16 beta kernel on an iMac. I was hoping to get my usb zip drive or external hd working, but during bootup I get the message that usb-ohci failed to load, suggesting I check the BIOS settings. I didn't think that was an issue on ppc's. I installed the 2.2.16 rpm package for ppc from the SuSE ftp site. I also installed the new devs.rpm (06-2000) and new usb.rpm (version .50). I've got the usb mouse working fine. Any idea why ohci is failing? -- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Andrew Dabrowski | Lueckenlos ist die Welt, doch SE 117 5-5470 | zusammengehalten ... von den Verschwundenen. dabrowsa@indiana.edu | Sie sind ueberall. -Enzensberger

Its compiled into the kernel, I just copied the rpm to ppc without checking it. Its already fixed here. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...

I put a newer version on the ftp server, with warnings disabled. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
I downloaded the rpms for KDE 2 today but they are marked for SuSE 7.0PPC - which doesn't seem to exist on the SuSE website... Will these rpms work fine with my 6.4PPC install? For the moment, the situation on PPC is a little bit problematic: Due to compiler reasons, it is not possible to build a really rock solid KDE2 for PPC, especially for 6.4. The packages you mention are for the upcoming 7.0, and they probably only work under 7.0. They still have some problems even under 7.0, which may be corrected in the future. For the 6.4, there is no possibility to build really working packages at the moment. Maybe this will change, but I guess it won´t. :-(
